The Intramural Fibroid is a growth in the muscular wall of the uterus. It can increase and stretch to womb causing trouble. When the development is outside of the uterus is called Subserosal Fibroid. Due to excessive growth, the womb may appear big from the outside.

When a stem is developed from a Subserosal Fibroid, it is referred to as Pedunculated Fibroid. At times, fibroids may develop in uterine cavity which is identified as Submucosal Fibroid.

Dr. Smiti who is an expert gynecologist of our clinic would recommend Laparoscopy for the removal of uterine fibroid.Though the growth is mostly non-cancerous still they may need removal.

After removal, the patient can get relieved from pressure on the bladder, pain in the pelvic region, and excessive bleeding.

Laparoscopy is suggested depending on size, site & symptoms of fibroid

Not really, there can sometimes be difficult removal or bleeding & at times the patient treated for Laparoscopy can suffer from skin irritation or bladder infection.

It may take nearly 2 weeks to 6 weeks for the recovery after Laparoscopy treatment for uterine fibroids.

Under the Laparoscopy procedure, the surgeon will make a small incision near the belly button. Then a laparoscope which is a tube fitted with a camera on one side is inserted in the abdomen. Later, the surgeon will perform the procedure by breaking the fibroids in small pieces. And gradually these pieces are removed.

Laparoscopy can remove a fibroid with the largest size of 10cm. But ultimately, it will also depend on the individual's health state whether the laparoscopy can be conducted or not. You can visit Dr. Smiti Women’s Clinic to meet and get the best advice for uterine fibroids.

Yes, the doctor at our clinic will suggest tests before conducting Laparoscopy. The tests will include:

1. Blood Test Analysis.
2. Urine Analysis.

Depending on the health status of the patient, the doctor may advise other tests also.
