Type of Pains in Pregnancy & Reasons

Pain in Pregnancy.

Pregnancy is a state of motherhood with mixed feelings and plenty of physical changes. If you observe any unusual and noticeable symptoms during pregnancy, you must not avoid it. It can be a pain, bleeding, or cramping that may disturb you anytime during the journey of nine months. Let us look at the types and causes of pain that you may experience during pregnancy.

Types and causes of abdomen pain in pregnancy:

  1. Discomfort in pain: It might happen throughout the pregnancy, and there is nothing to worry about. The discomfort in the pregnancy might rise due to the increase in the size of the uterus. As the size of the baby increases inside the womb, it pushes other body organs to make space. Hence, the discomfort will rise. It may not happen with every pregnant female but is still a common symptom.
  2. Gastric issues/Indigestion: Pregnancy might have left you less active and more in the rest mode. The rise in the level of progesterone hormone in the body can slow the rate of digestion. The food that you eat can cause indigestion further leading to gastric issues and pain in the abdomen.
  3. Abrupt movements of the child inside the womb: The random and sudden movements of the baby inside the womb can make you uncomfortable. There is nothing to worry about in this case, as it is a normal process.
  4. Braxton Hicks Contractions: The false labor pain alarms that do not persist for long are called Braxton Hicks Contractions. It might happen at the end of pregnancy. The pain might happen because the child and the womb prepare themselves for the final delivery. The contraction movements do not last for long and are short-lived.
  5. Labor Pain: The pain in your body that starts right before the delivery of the baby is called labor pain. The intensity and frequency of pain may arise. It is also a natural process in which you do not have to worry.
  6. Pain and Bleeding: Pain in the lower abdomen with bleeding during the initial months of pregnancy is a sign of concern. It might be a sign of miscarriage due to ectopic pregnancy.

In any of these situations, you must immediately connect with your gynecologist.
